Career Development Activities
To enhance the employment potential of the students Career Guidance cell is functioning in many ways.
Career Guidance Cell of our college tries to enhance the talents of our students by giving them training in various fields to face interviews successfully. The following activities have been undertaken from the year 2004- 2009. Vacancies and opportunities available in institutions are noted and informed to the students in the daily assembly and also put up on the notice board. Now, a separate room is allotted for the cell to have access for the students.
On 20.01.04 to27.01.04 One week Training programme on Employment Opportunities was conducted by “Sea City” Jaycees Club of Nagapattinam. Our U.G. Students attended the programme.
On 29.03. 04 a One day programme on “Employment opportunities for women in the field of Charted Accounting” was organized by Vekkaliamman Institute, Trichy for Commerce students.
On 10.05.04 SRM Radiant InfoTech Ltd, Chennai conducted a campus Interview for M.C.A.& M.SC IT Students in our College campus. Miss. A.Akila , MCA was Selected.
On 10.06.04 Appointment Order was given to the selected candidate Miss. A.Akila, MCA. From Radiant Technology Chennai by our President Thiru.A.D. Jayam Pandian.
On 30.07.04 a One day seminar on ‘Personality Development’ was organized by Rotary Club of Nagapattinam for our Final Year students.
A One day programme was organized, On 09.12.04 speech on “Self Confidence’ was given by Dr. Mangalam and Dr. Habeeb.
On 24.02.06 Confederation of India Industry (CII) Conducted a Job Fair at Srimathi Indra Gandhi College. 86 students attended the Job fair.
On 16.06.2006 Confederation of India Industry (CII) conducted a Job Fair in Srimathi Indra Gandhi College. 86 students attended the Job Fair.
Continental Management Consultancy conducted training programme to develop the inner potential of students on 24.07.07 – 26 students in the I Batch and on 06.08.06 – 26 students in the II batch attended the programme.
On 11.08.06 “Techruit” Yahoo Placement Services conducted placement in E.G.S.Pillai Engineering College Nagapattinam. 38 Students attended the same and 6 were short listed.
On 18.08.06 in Bharathidasan University, IECD Campus interview conducted.19 companies offered employment opportunities at various levels. 26 of our students attended and 9 of them were short listed.
Skill Scalar 2006 was conducted by Rotary Club of Dindigul Green City on 22.09.06. 4 students participated. Ms.R.Parkavi, II M.Sc., Computer Science has won the Winner Prize in Group Event and MJs.K.Pushpalatha won Runner Prize in Group discussion.
A Crash Programme was conducted for 10 days in our college form 30.10.06 to 09.10.06. Classes were conducted on Personality Development, Numerical Ability, Clerical Aptitude and Test of Reasoning.
On 25.01.07 a Work shop was conducted on Soft skills development Continental Academy Nagapattinam.
Sutherland Global Services conducted a campus recruitment drive in the IECD campus on 17.02.07. 27 students have participated and 5 students were short listed.
On 25.02.07 Students attended direct interview in Bishop Heber College, Trichy. Ms.Easwari and G.Vijayabala of II B.Sc., Physics were short listed.
On 05.09.07 a one day Workshop was conducted in A.V Room by Texas Technologies exclusively for Computer Science & Information Technology students.
On 08.12.07 Satyam Computer Service conducted an Interview in Anna University, Trich for Computer Science & Information Technology students. Among the 8 students participated B.Ramya, II B.Sc Computer Science was selected.
Tata Consultancy Service conducted campus recruitment in Kongu Arts & Science College for UG &PG students doing B.Com, B.B.A Maths & Chemistry on 09.12.07. Among the 12 candidates participated 2 were shot listed.
On 21.01.2008 Wipro InfoTech conducted an interview at A.V.V.M Sri Pushpa College, Poondi. Among 12 of our students attended and 2 of them were selected. They can join Wipro InfoTech company after completing their degree.
As per communication received from Techruit, Chennai, We conducted written Aptitude Examination for both UG & PG Final Year students in our campus on 06.02.08. 356 students wrote the examination.
On 23.02.08 & 24.02.08, M/s. TCS conducted a campus recruitment drive at the Sastra University, Kumbakonam campus. 78 students attended the campus recruitment.
An Exhibition cum seminar on “Employment opportunities on higher education” Joint venture with District Employment Office was organized on 25.02.08 Dr.J.Radhakrishnan I.A.S (District Collector) was the Chief Guest. DON BOSCO was the Resource Person.
On 26.2.08, A.R.J College of Engineering and Technology conducted the campus interview. Twelve companies participated in the job fair. 49 students from our college participated in the job fair.
On 4th March 2008, a State Level Workshop on Dimensions of Individual Development was organized in Bharath College of Science, Thanjavur. 5 students attended the programme.
On 27.03.08 M/s Sutherland Services, Chennai a U.S Based Company conducted a job fair in our college campus. All the nearby colleges have been invited to the job fair. From our college 444 students and from other college 226 students from our college participated in campus interview. Totally 670 candidates attended the interview our of the fifteen selected four are our students. From our college 4 students and from other colleges 11 students have been selected for the post of Technical Support Executives.
On 07.04.08 after letters had been distributed to selected students by our Founder President Thiru.A.D.Jeyam Pandian.
On 16.04.08 Career Net Company conducted campus interview at R.V.S College Karaikal. 10 students attended the Campus Recruitment.
On 21.04.08 a Job Fair was conducted by Reliance Life Insurance Company in our college Campus.45 Students from our college and 75 students from other Colleges participated.
On 19.06.08 – All final year students have been asked to submit their resumes.
On 01.07.08 a Communication was received from Centre for Women’s Studies, Bharathidansan University Trichy, regarding the appointment of guest lecturers in Economics. All the M.Pill candidates have been insisted to send their resumes for the same.
